Principal's message
As the Principal of Mary Brooksbank School, I welcome you to our website and hope that you will enjoy the information offered.
Mary Brooksbank School is a dedicated centre of educational excellence established on the 18th of August 1987, specifically catering to students with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, often accompanied by complex behavioural and emotional needs.
In 2025, we serve a diverse student population of 123 students, 10% of whom are from First Nations backgrounds, 58% from language backgrounds other than English, across 20 classes ranging from Kindergarten to Year 12. We use Positive Behaviour for Learning and Play-Based Learning principles to foster an inclusive and supportive environment.
The school provides quality curriculum access with accommodations and adjustments for all students on an individualised basis. We implement K – 12 curriculums as students work towards the Record of School Achievement (ROSA) and Higher School Certificate (HSC).
