Mary Brooksbank School is committed to providing quality Numeracy programs that are tailored to the individual needs of each student.

To achieve this, staff from M.B.S worked in collaboration with Holroyd Special School to develop a Numeracy Framework and Assessment Kit which assists teachers to assess and program Numeracy in a way that caters for the specific needs of students who have a disability. The Numeracy Framework links directly to the NSW Board of Studies Mathematics Syllabus and was funded by the 2009 South Western Sydney Priority Schools Program.

This term the Infants section of the school have been involved in Math groups where the children have been focusing on number and more recently, on Space and Geometry. Each group works at the level best suited to the individual students. In the Primary, students have been studying Number and Measurement using the interactive whiteboards as a learning tool. The seniors are concentrating on money and shopping skills. The students enjoy participating in games designed to reinforce knowledge that will help them in the broader community.
