Mary Brooksbank P&C
The Mary Brooksbank P&C (MBS P&C) consists of an active group of parents, grandparents, carers and foster parents who dedicate their time and resources to support the school. The MBS P&C is a volunteer not-for-profit incorporated association. As such, your support and participation at our meetings and events are vital to our ongoing success.
What is the purpose of the MBS P&C?
The MBS P&C works to achieve the best possible outcomes for students and other stakeholders in our school community. The MBS P&C will:
- Consult with the parent community, students, and school staff to identify the main needs of the school, and plan accordingly how best to meet those needs.
- Provide feedback about parent views on issues related to the school’s systems and or programs.
- Provide funds to purchase resources identified by the school.
What does the MBS P&C do?
- The MBS P&C helps to meet the needs of our school community and contribute to decisions about the school.
- The MBS P&C run and maintain two minibuses as part of the Department's Assisted School Travel Program. These buses also support the school to run lower cost excursions and community access programs.
- The MBS P&C operates a Uniform Shop where purchases of school t-shirts, jackets, jumpers and hats can be made. As part of our service, we also make ourselves available to help staff, parents and carers fit students into the right sized clothing.
- The MBS P&C coordinate fund raising initiatives like the Mother's and Father's Day gift stalls, catering for functions and family days including Kindergarten Orientation Day, Multi-cultural Day, end of year Presentation Day, Easter Hat Parade and Christmas Family Fun Day.
- The MBS P&C members volunteer their time and energy to school projects including the no-dig vegetable gardens, the library and assisting with the school swimming program.
- The MBS P&C provide a representative for all staff recruitment panels.
- The MBS P&C apply for grants to improve the school facilities.
How do I join the P&C?
- If you would like to join the MBS P&C please email us or come along to a meeting.
- The membership fee is currently $1.00 per annum.
- As a financial member of the MBS P&C Association you may move and vote on motions at meetings and stand for election on the Committee.
- If you choose not to pay the membership fee, you are able to attend meetings and activities of the MBS P&C but cannot vote at meetings or hold positions on the Committee.
When are the MBS P&C Meetings held?
- Our meetings are generally held on Fridays in weeks 4 and 8 of each school term at 9:15 am in the School’s Community Hub.
- We will send home regular notifications of upcoming MBS P&C meetings. The notifications will also be posted on the notice boards within the school.
